What We Do

The HealthPartners Simulation Center for Patient Safety at Metropolitan State University provides realistic hands-on experiential learning opportunities for healthcare professionals in current practice as well as medical and nursing students from facilities throughout Minnesota and neighboring states, and public groups.
Founded in 2003, the Center is a joint initiative between HealthPartners Institute for Medical Education and Metropolitan State University.
The Center is a state-of-the-art educational facility featuring computerized adult and pediatric mannequins (high-fidelity patient simulators), task trainers, ICU/ED/OR rooms, clinic rooms, a multimedia classroom and high-tech communications area. Audio-video recording and live broadcast of the simulation activity is possible in any area of the Center. Staff use their clinical and educational expertise to design and facilitate a variety of programs.
